People laugh at me all the time for carrying bugs outside instead of just stepping on them. I agree, why should I get to choose if they live or die.radioactive girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01588217525296865718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8664692.post-30865516711283529862008-06-19T12:21:00.000-04:002008-06-19T12:21:00.000-04:00I relate to this on some levels. But mosquitos, flies, spiders and creepy crawly things (like shiny black bugs...ugh...just thinking about them makes me shiver...yuck)...it's kind of like an automatic reaction of mine to swat or stomp. Especially if they are in my house.

But I get where you're going with this post...and it's hard to wrap my brain around.Sicilian Mamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14716194564661523397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8664692.post-29733171947496404332008-06-19T10:10:00.000-04:002008-06-19T10:10:00.000-04:00Kitkat - I'm not so much sure it's kindness as a s...Kitkat - I'm not so much sure it's kindness as a sense of awe. It seems like a big responsibility to choose whether or not to remove one more living thing from the cosmos. Or at least that it should be. But you're right. We must consume DNA to live.

Claire - So I'm not the only nutjob out here? :-)Candacehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10869574150060699562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8664692.post-61589585377512844892008-06-19T01:58:00.000-04:002008-06-19T01:58:00.000-04:00Um, I'm the person who picks worms off the concret...Um, I'm the person who picks worms off the concrete and throws them back in the grass, so I understand.Clairehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10740049258265150141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8664692.post-43849924711017448182008-06-18T17:04:00.000-04:002008-06-18T17:04:00.000-04:00You have a very kind heart, Candace. But, isn't this the way of things? I mean, what's the difference between an ant and a zucchini? Something has to die for something else to live...you just didn't eat the ant this time.kitkathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17629467279224900162noreply@blogger.com
