To Pagans and Christians alike, this day is all about Brighid/St. Brigit, the light-bringer. It's also known as Candlemas, and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Regardless of which woman we honour, a common theme for this day is that of a Goddess or Holy Mother returning young light to a world of darkness. This is a day for hopes and dreams to be sown.
