The Alarmist One

You know I do my level best to avoid the political brouhaha, like Global Warming/Cooling/Dimming/Shrinking/Expanding/Hardening/Spongifying. Usually.

But I can no longer keep silent.

TG, I think you, at least, will truly appreciate this one.

I love me a good Silent But Deadly. Only a good Dutch Oven can compare.

Candace said...

Well THAT was an unexpected tangent!

I think I'm gonna need some DHMO for cleanup if you're experiencing "separator failure."

egan said...

You said something "keeping silent" and automatically my mind jumped on the fart tangent. You have to excuse my mind for that.

Separator Failure? Is that when your body lacks the ability to pinch a loaf?

Candace said...

That's when your body fails to separate the liquid from the gas, often resulting in the much abhorred Brown Trousers Syndrome.

That article reminded me of a persuasive speech I judged in February.

egan said...

Arm, you judged a speech? I better watch my tongue around you.

Cand-Ass, does that result in a wide stance strut?

Claire said...

Global warming is going to cause the world to be overrun with DHMO and all you people can do is make jokes about farts and soiling one's self???
Holy shit!

Candace said...

Arm - was it, indeed, persuasive? ^_^

Egan - Canned Ass = SPAM. Oh, yes, I think BTS does result in the wide-stance strut/shuffle. Sounds lke you speak from experience.

Candace said...

Claire - we're too terrified to be serious. We take refuge in silliness. ^_^

ARM said...

Oh man, there is some good stuff going on here today.

ldbug said...

*giggle* I love that one!!

Yup, as a scientist, I'm getting pretty fed up with the alarmist views from people who know absolutely jack all about global warming

Candace said...

Amanda - Let's pick on Egan! Do you think he has a Brown Speedo so nothing will show? ^_^

Ldbug - The links at the bottom are fun, too, like the one that links to a pro-DHMA page. ^_^

I was expecting umm, to be offended at the very least. I feel ignorant. But not offended. (smile)

Bonnie Danger said...

And you all were wondering how those sewer alligators got so HUGE.

It's obvious--Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was slipping them DHMO-enriched Gator Chow.

ARM said...

Oh crap. Oh no! Wait. That came out wrong. Damn it!

Ok, I'm regrouping here. I don't know about brown. Yes it would hide stuff, but would it accentuate his package?

egan said...

Let's not talk about my package or Speedo™ in public please. That's very sensitive information.

Candace - yes, there's of course a story to accompany the wide stance strut, butt that will have to wait for another day. I'm too busy fighting off folks on my blog. I feel like I should be launching a cow from a catapult.

Jay said...

OH man. I can't wait until Michael Moore tackles this one.

ARM said...

Oops, I forgot, Egan. What can we talk about, then?

Candace said...

~d - Sorry to disappoint. I will do my best to offend next time. ;)

Danger lass - I believe that no remaining gator habitat is free of DHMO.

Amanda - Har! Brown and Packages always go together.

Egan - Maybe if you cough up the name we wouldn't torment you so. Nah! We still would.

Would that be a diseased cow? Fetchez la vache!

Jay - It would be an Oscar winner, I'm sure. Or an OscarM Wiener. Hmmm. . .

Amanda - no kidding! I hear Egan chose the name Speedo Brown.

egan said...

Speedeaux Brown Singe has a nice ring to it.

Candace said...

That IS lovely. I think you should work in the ™ somewhere.

ARM said...

Shall I start the embroidery on the blankie? SBS stitched on the corners. How sweet.

Candace said...

SBS! I like how that's a palindrome. :)

egan said...

(clears throat)

Candace said...

Cough you. (as my kids would say when yonger)

Mint?

egan said...

Sure, I love mints. I put it in my mouth right?

Candace said...

Depends. . .

Trundling Grunt said...

Well,m when you and Egan can tear yourselves away from farting and flirting....

While I love that article, there is a glimmer of truth to it. Remember Jennifer Strange?

http://www.news10.net/display_story.aspx?storyid=23350

Candace said...

OK, no more flarting. :)

Good point. I think they give the signs for it on that page somewhere, too. Too bad Mrs. Strange hadn't read it. Too bad the radio station peeps hadn't read it.

egan said...

I need to learn about Mrs. Strange after I finish flarting.

Diesel said...

"DHMO is a major component of acid rain." True enough.

Logophile said...

should I stop breathing?
Or bathing?
Or...
what exactly?
Im so confused

Candace said...

Egan - Any relation to Jonathan strange, do you think? I really need to read that.

Diesel - And it was present in all that moist dog and cat food that is killing pets.

Logo - Yes. Everything. The sad truth is that we are not safe. It's not a question of being "no longer safe" because we never have been. Terrifying, isn't it? ^_^

ARM said...

I love the word palindrome. I don't know why.

I need to read that book as well, CAndace. I have it, but I keep finding other books I want to read first.

Candace said...

But I find it highly ironic that the word palindrome is not, itself a palindrome.

Mom and Dad are Palindromes is a fun book.

You have that already? That's funny! I have SOOOOOooooo many books on my to read list. Right now I'm reading Mr. Darcy takes a wife, and then I should have the next Outlander from the library.

ARM said...

You're right...that is ironic. And that book looks hilarious.

Is Mr. Darcy good? I heard someone talking about it the other day at work.
