More Random Musings

Mostly piccys today. Not a lot to say. Still reading.

I was happily snapping away at the flowers today, when The Boy spotted a toad. Oh Joy!

They like to have those ridges behind their eyes stroked. This one leaned into the petting most happily.

Shortly thereafter, I heard much coversation being carried on with "
Commander Toad." The honourable Commander was apparently unfazed by his craft's lack of wings, though I suspect that the many, many ensuing crash scenarios may have been aided thereby. (Don't worry, The Boy didn't actually crash the plane with The Commander on board. It was all strictly simulation.)

Alien lifeforms were discovered. Chiefly, some sort of chamaeleon-toed feline.

Back on the home planet, a Japanese beetle waged destruction on Commander Toad's favourite rhododendron bush.

And a large sunflower turned its face to the sun. It was later decapitated by an unknown foe. (Most likely a squirrel. The mangled remains of said flower were found on the other side of the neighbour's fence.)

Random Observations:

How to keep track of whose clothes are whose:

#1 child gets 1 dot, add a dot when you pass on to #2, etc. etc.

Time to get another copy of my favourite piece of music:

One of my favourite bits - sounds tricky, isn't, and is really fun to play.

The original inventor of the HWT Plankton and his creation:

And yet another lily. Sick of lilies yet? But I don't think I've posted the same colour twice. :-)

This post pleases me very much. It's great to be able to spy on your family via your blog. You're too kind for sharing. Have a fantastic weekend Candace.

We used to have a HUGE(2 lbs at least) toad that lived in our yard. I would find him and keep him safe whenever L mowed the lawn or weed-eated.

When I took my kitty to the vet yesterday, there was an "office cat" hanging around who had one paw that looked like the one yours has there. I called him (in my head) a little mutant cat, but I meant it in the nicest way possible.

WOW, Tsmom! That is a HUUUGE toad, LOL! I wonder what kind it was. I think it's awesome that you kept him safe from the mower. :-)

LOL Kitkat. Trilly is little mutant, too. (though she thinks everyone else is the mutant) All 4 of her paws are like that. I love how it looks when she walks. And she can use her extra 2 like thumbs.

Great post, Candace.

Toads, alien craft and lillies.
These are all good things. And kids are so unselfconsciously creative.

Thanks. Enjoy Sunday.

What are you doing to me woman? First the Wantage quote and then the Popillia japonica Newman (spot the nerdy Ag scientist :-) ). I rushed out to the garage and then sprayed my monitor with Sevin. Then went out to buy a new monitor...... damn you woman....

You have purdy flowers.
I am not, however, a huge fan of the toad. We've some little tree froglets hopping around here, bright green and cheerful looking.
I am sleepy now and although it tends to make me verbose I will try to keep my logorrhea under control and just get some sleep.

hmm, your blog just took forever to load. Not sure why.

Thanks, Winters. :-)

TG - *snort* :-) Hmm. I wonder why it was so slow. Blogger being wacky again? Bleh.

Logo, no toads?? Tree frogs are awful cute, aren't they? That's what all of our tadpoles have become - ever so cute, little, tiny, apple-green tree frogs. :-) Logorrhea, LOL! I get that a lot. :-P

Is that Playmobile?

The dot method looks like a DNA test.

Mal - why yes it is :-)

Tocy - LOL! Maybe I should switch to a more sophisticated DNA-code-alphabet sort of marking. ;-)
