Cutting Edge Vid (wink wink, nudge nudge)

I've been busy with BILLY. He's so tall and handsome, and I've been doing my best to fulfill him, or at least fill him. And then GuTTer MuNKi brought BILLY's twin brother home tonight. Bliss, I tell you.

Also, after a frantic hunt for 2 due library books and the disinterring of a 3rd which had been missing and presumed dead, I have decided that we have way too much stuff. This is what happens when you stay in the same house for more than 2 years, apparently. So look out Stuff, here we come!

And now, for any number of reasons, I give you The Scissor Sisters with a slightly ABBA meets Wham! sort of number. I don't profess to have the faintest inkling of what the video might mean; I just like the song. They may not feel like dancing, but I bet you will.

We LOVE The Scissor Sisters :D
Stuff is hiding everywhere, waiting to leap out to surprise you, under beds,on top of wardrobes,in the bottom of school bags...
We've got 9 of BILLY's cousins,in various sizes,around the house.They are always working hard ;)

Cool Scissors tune - good throwing things out music. I try to throw at least one old piece of crap out each week. Feels good.

Fun video!

My work won't let me view the vid, so I'll have to check it out later.

I haven't been to the library in months. They're trying to tell me that I have to pay for a book that they lost! Whatev.

Glad that BILLY is now has his twin! I'm sure he was feeling like he was missing something without him!

The video isn't one of their best, but I do think his purple suit is wicked.

It sounds more Bee Gees at parts, don't you think?

"Your Mama" is more George Michael, especially if you hear it alongside "Freedom" when you download DJ Earworm's No One Takes Your Freedom

Very colorful and happy. I liked the beat. It was easy to dance to. I gave it an 85.

Bugs - Stuff is sneaky that way. I'm about to go attack some more of it. Better get it before it gets me, I figure. :-P

Joe - Now THAT is smart. I wonder if I'm disciplined enough to adopt it. I hope so. It is definitely good chucking music! I think I'll make up some new words to use while flinging: I don't feel like keeping this when I could throw it out. . . ^_^

Sophie - Purple Leather is IN! (Lemony Snicket?)

Snowcrush - Very dance-able, don't you think? Though I can't dance like that dude.

Arm - It's a rurreal vid but very fun song, IMO.

I HATE it when they lose books we've returned. But they're very nice about taking it off the record no Qs asked when we find them on the shelf. One of my friends was accused of sneaking it in and then bringing it to the desk at HER library. (our lib is nice, LOL!)

Poly - OMG THANK YOU! I meant to say that last night : ABBA meets the Bee Gees and then sexy George popped into my head and there wasn't room for the Bee Gees anymore. I sat there trying to recall what I 'd meant to say, but nothing. So that was plaguing me. Argh.

I'm checking yours out next. Ooh, that sounds a bit rude, dunnit? ^_^

Gawpo - Do we get the YouTube of you dancing to it? ^_^

Poly - just so you know, your use of "earworm" gave me a hideous flashback to The Wrath of Khan (remember Chekhov and that thing that went into his ear? Like anyone could forget. . .)

That's the Scissor Sisters? They look different than I remember. Good song, though. It's catchy. And yes, it has a vibe of the BeeGee's and a little ABBA and, yes, a little bit 'o Wham.

in response to your post below:

My father's birthday was the 5th...happy birthday to our daddy angels! I said a prayer for you, girl.

Who woulda thought that a purple jumpsuit could look sexy?
Bee Gees? That's IT, that's why I like them!

This video and song is like cats for me.

If you can get hold of Leo Sayer's song "You make me feel like dancing" you'll wonder if Elton John had that playing when he wrote this song for the Scissor Sisters!
Got a mash up of both songs and they mesh together perfectly ;)

Arm - is it not catchy? It's stuck in my head! :) I miss Wham. I so had the hots for George when I was a teen.

Slade - thank you so much. :) Yes, happy birthday to yours, too. Why do the good ones die so young? I guess because they don't need second chances?

Tshsmom - Can that man shake his booty or what? Not fair, LOL! Yeah, very Bee Gees, eh?

Egan - what is WRONG with you, man? Do I need to post Englebert Humperdink or what? Sheesh!

Bugs - I'll have to look for that. I can't think of it offhand, but I bet I'll know it when I hear it. I just found an Elton John squirreled away in one of the kids' rooms. I guess him music is timeless. ^_^

Well not everyone has the same music taste young lady. I happen to think it sucked, but trust me I love your sister's stuff.

C said...

Excuse me, but SUCKED?!?! You say that like it's a bad thing. I'm so lost. }:->

You're just afraid of your Inner Dancing Queen. Embrace her, Egan. She's hot!

C said...

BTW she's so hot, she's hott with 2 Ts.

but I
'm glad you like my sis's stuff. Which stuff? Navan or The Getway Drivers? Or both? Just curious.

egan said...

Um, if you had any idea how much I disliked Abba you might understand where I'm coming from. That's all I'm saying about this.

I've only heard Navan. I need to hear The Getway Drivers too. Anywhere I can find a sample?

C said...

Ha! I'm not a huge ABBA fan, but I love, love, LOVE the Chess album! (written by Benny and Bjorn)

C said...

Oh, to hear the Getaway Drivers, go to Bob Manor and the Getaway Drivers in my sidebar, under Disaster Area and Friends. You can click on MP3s on their home page.

Or you could be lazy and follow this link ^_^

I love ABBA. I love all that is palindrome. A Toyota. Is Pepsi? Do geese see God? Seriously, did you know that you can take any ABBA record, reverse the direction on an old turntop, set the needle at what should be the end near the center of the vinyl and the album will play just as it does from the outside in? Honest. Really. No, it's true. I'm not lying. Honest. Really.

C said...

If ABBA were not a palindrome, I wouldn't have any respect for them at all. E None.

Why isn't "palindrome" a palindrome? I mean, shouldn't they have chosen a palindrome to represent the very thing it's supposed to, uh, represent?

Nice one with the geese. I have to look most of mine up. This is what Gawpo's pet rabbit and dog do when he comes home: "Gawpo!" hop wag

:-P

Sucky, eh?

That was excellent! Like when Oscar Delaurentis' father caught his teenage son experimenting with Liz Taylor's husband: Do not rub Burton, O.D.

Haha! You like? Yours rocks!
