Ode to Wednesday

Today was Not-quite-so-crazy Tuesday as it turned out that I didn't have to teach After-School class after all. Bonus! And tomorrow is WEDNESDAY!! Oh lovely, fantabulous, no-commitments Wednesday. It makes me feel like dancing.

My heart sings, and a heady gladness stains
My sense, as though tequila I had drunk,
Or emptied some bright coffee drink to the drains
One minute past, and Mneme-wards had sunk. . .

(with apologies to Keats. )

I previewed Wednesday in Australia -hot,dry and exhausting - predictions are -stay at home and read a good book in bed ;)

With beaded bubbles winking at the brim,
And lime-stained salt

That I might drink, and leave the grounds unseen,
And with thee fade away into thy Wednesday waltz

Candace if you haven't already read it,try The Callahan Chronicals by Spider Robinson -an old,old fav I just dug up from the pile beside the bed.Sci-fi /fantasy comedy with a twist.
And by the way - Thursday is shaping up like it deserves to be a lazy day too ;)

Egan - When I dance, it's better if you watch with your eyes shut. ^_^

Bugs - Sounds like a great plan. I believe that January here is supposed to be coldish - maybe 20s (F) but today should be 50ish, so it's a hot one for us too, relatively speaking. It's definitely a day for reading and writing, regardless!

Joe - That was beautifully done. What a great image. :)

Bugs - Great! Definitely putting that on my list, too. I love Sci-fi comedy! Have you read the Red Dwarf books? Parts of those leave me gasping for breath. ^_^ Ohh Lazy Thursday sounds awesome. We have a bit of craziness, but I will attempt to be lazy in between.

Dance on, darlin'! Do you have blisters on your feet yet?

That's the same warning I give people when I dance about. You rock Candace.

No, my blog isn't a "smoking hole" any longer, but I'm not feeling too creative so I've been only posting links to other things. A shot or two of tequila might get the creative juices flowing, I might even dance a little.

Cindra - Nein! My feet are TKD tough! They can take a ton of dancing now. At least without shoes. With shoes would be a different story. :-P I'm like the Hank Azaria character from The Bird Cage when it comes to shoes.

Egan - Maybe someday we will dance together with our eyes shut. But that could lead to skull fractures, so maybe not.

Logo - Seriously? Can you take pics? If not, can you smuggle your camera in inside a cereal box? OK, I guess explaining your need for cereal at the exhibit might be awkward. . .

You know, I think they were in Grand Rapids last year, but that's an awkard distance for us. Phooey. Enjoy! And make sure to blog all about it. I always mix them up with the Nag Hammadi scrolls.

Toby - Hooray! It's back! Tequila is definitely good for dancing, posting, and numerous other activities. "Tequila: it's not just for summer."

Tequila can be very nasty. I remember once waking up no with no shoes on and my head in a rucksack, lying in a field, after a night of tequila consumption.

I had fallen asleep 50 miles away. Very nasty...

Holy stink, Winters! That IS nasty. Perhaps I'll use a less scary substance for my next happy poem. ^_^
