Not Valid

Invalid in fact.

1) Pushing back kicks are great when the opponent is moving away.

2) They are not so great if it turns out he hasn't moved after all.

3) Apparently ankles are not supposed to make that sound.

4)
MuNKi is strong enough to pick me up and carry me.

5) But not effortlessly.

6) Willowy little
Christine Daae I'm not.

7) Ice can be very, very, very cold.

8) Also frozen peas.

I suppose you want to hear about the brownie disaster. Oy! We were out of eggs, so I Googled "no egg brownie recipe" and printed a bunch out. I picked one of the candidates and threw it all together, checking everything a few times to be sure I wasn't messing up. I thought it a bit odd that they baked in a jellyroll pan for 35 minutes, but whatever. I thought it a little odder when Mollusc said they were bubbling. But they smelled good, so whatever. When they came out, they were VERY bubbly, but seemed cakelike as I loosened the edges. From there, however, things went downhill. By the time they cooled, they were basically overcooked toffee. Do not trust the recipe called "Brownies Supreme." Unless it's something supremely unlike brownies you're wanting. Gee, maybe I should have read the comments on that page - specifically, the one about "Brownies Supreme." :-P

You're very crafty Candace. Hey, are you sending me some brownies or what?

Oh no! Is your ankle just sprained or something worse? I hope it's OK.

I'm dying at your brownie story because baking disasters always make me laugh. Like the time I tried making my grandma's famous devil's food cake. Let's just say that mixing up the measurements for vinegar & oil can really mess things up.

Egan - muahahaha!! These would mail very well. I think they're impervious to spoilage. But also biting. How's sunny FL? I'm glad you haven't vanished into the Bermuda Triangle simply because you're not at home. :)

Amanda - I don't actually know. MuNKi made me a doctor appointment for this afternoon. It's actually not good at all. I can't walk. I can stand - kind of. But not very well. I can move it a little bit in all directions, though, so that has to be good. Right? I actually experienced some waves of nausea in the shower this morning when I came to grips with the fact that this really could affect black belt testing.

I have a newfound respect for old people trying to shower in slippery stalls, and for pregnant women on bedrest.

Baking disasters slay me, too. They're almost always worth it just in comedic value. ^_^ Eeeeew on that cake, LOL! Devil's food indeed! A Cake from the very bowels of hell! ^_^ I love it!

I'm so sorry!! Let us know how the dr. appointment turns out. I know what you are going through - I fractured my ankle when I was in school during cheerleading practice. The sound that the ankle isn't supposed to make? Yeah, I know that sound very well. I hope so much that this isn't the case for you.

Gaahh! That doesn't sound good at all. This is why I don't kick anything but balls. Er, you know what I mean.

If you feel up to it, come play in my caption contest!

What is it with bloggers and ankles this winter? Just about everybody has had ankle problems!

Were the brownies as bad as your first batch of marshmallows? ;)

Amanda - I'm back! No broken bones, and my achilles tendon is still intact. (Hallelujah, Jaffar!) So it's most likely one or some of the little ligaments. No walking for a week. (AAAAACKKK!) 800 mg ofIbuprofen 2X per day, icing And I have crutches. :-P

Diesel - I should definitely have kicked him in the balls. That would have been much softer, and far less likely to have damaged my foot. ^_^ I LOVE your picture. I'm thinking of possibilities. :)

Tshsmom - It's an epidemic, I tell ya!

It's hard to say which was worse. They were each really horrible in their own special ways. ^_^

Ouch. Stay off that ankle. I sprained mine on the tennis court. Didn't stay off it as the doctor said, it grew weak, and I sprained it twice more in the same spot.

Maybe you should stop thinking of it as a Brownie and start thinking of it as a toffee. "It makes a very ugly child - but quite a handsome pig," said Alice.

Yay! I'm so glad that no bones are broken or tendons hurt. Take care this weekend and do go hurting anything else!

Those 'brownies' were horrible. =.= Next time can we just go with the gooey ones, please? Those are SO much better.

Actually, I prefer any kind of brownie that has the consistency of something other than tar. :/

you should pay attention to sheri from Illinois, shouldn't you.

Should we feel sorry for you or Munki :-)?

Spring is springing here - same with you?

Candace said...

Joe - I shall. At least that is my plan. :-P

I'm LOL at the toffee thing, but I'm not sure it would even make a good toffee. ^_^

Amanda - I'm still getting the shivers thinking about your shattered ankle. Uuuuurgh! Are there any residual effects? Thank you! I shall do my best to be a careful person. :-P

Ash - I think deep-fried cantaloupe would have been better than those "brownies." Or asparagus cookies. What do you think?

Perhaps we should fill the cracks in the driveway with that stuff. ^_^

TG - I have learned an important lesson! Always listen to Sheri, and always, ALWAYS look for the comments section BEFORE attempting a new baking disast --er recipe.

So far MuNKi is being ever so generous and offering to do things for me and making me promise to ask him for stuff. But I fear he will tire of it. I know I would. And it's really hard to sit still. MuNKi may have to sit on me before this is all over.

Today MuNKi got to play my favourite game at TKD: kick the helmet flying sidekicks. We haven't played it for months and months and months. And they got to play an extra half hour after class should have ended. And the Master kept telling me I could come and play if I wanted to. Aaaargh! So for now you can cry for me. (Argentina)

Spring has thought about springing. It spronged somewhat yeserday, but today it unsprung a bit. The daffodils are about 4 inches tall. :)

Next time try subbing 1/4 cup mayonnaise for each egg. I don't know if this would work for brownies, but it works in cake. ;)

I am scared of your ankle noise.
I am scared of your brownies.
All this fear is exhausting, I must go to bed now

Candace said...

Tshsmom - THANK YOU! I will!! :) That's fantastic to know!!! :)

Logo - I hope you slept a sweet and nightmareless sleep. :) Things are looking up. The ankle is no worse, and I think it feels a little better, actually. :)

ARM said...

Residual side affects are just slight twinges in the ankle if I over-do it on my work-outs or if it gets really cold out. But, I don't think I let it heal properply - I stopped wearing my air-cast and using crutches before I was supposed to.

Not possibly being able to pay enough money in the whole world for something like that brownie recipie: Priceless.

???

Wuh?

Gawpo said...

No, wait. I got it.

Having a lot of money, but the amount of money required to be able to pay for how funny that brownie recipe was is still more than you have: Priceless.

Is that it?

Gawpo said...

Okay. Let's say you have twice as much money as Bill Gates, but even more. And you........awwww forget it.

It was funny.
