Keeping Mum

GuTTer MuNKi and I watched this on Wednedsay night and enjoyed it thoroughly. Though it's not the knee-slapping, tear-streaming sort of funny, it's that lovely chuckling with the occasional explosive HA! sort of funny, which I love. Except that it hurts to laugh because something inside my chest gave way 2 Tuesdays ago during sparring. But that may have gotten kicked back into alignment last night, because this morning it seems to be quite a lot better. In which case, I may have to watch the movie again. ^_^

I got Big Fish at the library yesterday. Has anyone seen it? One of the TKD dads (with whom I trade book titles - we have similar tates) said it was good, so I figured I'd check it out. I also got The Heart of Me, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Oh, and I have Serenity waiting in the wings. The beauty of getting films at the library is that you can pick a bunch of different stuff to watch depending on your mood, and if you never get around to watching some of them, it doesn't matter since they're free!

I was awoken this morning by what sounded like someone banging on the neighbour's roof, and was immediately reminded of Logo. I looked out the window to see what was going on, but what that shocking spectre was, I'm not saying. ^_^

I love Maggie Smith - that movie has been on my list from Netflix. When we get our subcription back, I should be getting it.

Big Fish is pretty good. I guess you can say that it didn't suck. I've seen worse and I've seen better.

Sorry about your chest. That sucks. I hurt my back when I was shoveling snow last week and my arm has been numb ever since. Is that a bad thing?

Amanda - I love her, too! I bet you'll really enjoy the film. :) Didn't suck? Wouldn't that be a great book review? ^_^

Oh, your poor back! Could it be a slightly pinched nerve? I'm really bad about going to the doc for stuff like that cuz, really, what are they gonna do other than charge you $20 to say, "yes, you have an injury"? LOL!

Seeleah - You are alive! Don't you get it? I'm keeping mum about it. ^_^ Go listen to this. You will love it. Well, I hope so, anyway. I might have to buy the CD.

Was it roofers?
That is what my noise was, boring but good in the long run.
Definitely less visual interest.
Big Fish was odd but good.

Personally I loved Big Fish because the dad's character reminds me a lot like my mom. Sometimes I can never differentiate truth from fiction. The movie totally connected with me and got me all weepy. I've had many discussions about this movie with my pal Sprizee, she didn't like the movie. I'm curious what you think.

Ok - my first attempt at an "adult" review. Tell me what you think. It was really awkward to write, so I'm thinking that I may stay away from doing anymore of those.

Hey! Have you been here before? You can write stuff and people will rank it and if they are really good, you get money. I did my first one and I'm #1 out of 2. I don't know much more about it than that. But I thought I'd share.

Ooh yes, Keeping Mum is an excellent movie. Suitably black and Maggie Smith is excellent as ever.

Big Fish was good, but not as spectacular as I had hoped. Myabe I should watch it again as I don't think I paid enough attention at the time.

Logo - no roofers as far as I could tell. Big Fish is definitely odd so far.

Egan - how are they like each other? I thought your mom was pretty close to you. The tall tale aspect?

Amanda - I think you did a great job on the review. It makes me want to check it out. ^_^ I may have been to helium a long time ago because it looks/sounds vaguely familiar, but I've never written for them. Thanks for the link.

TG - I want to see Keeping Mum again. So far Big Fish is pretty strange. :)

Yes, the telling taller tales than you can imagine. If you see the movie it will make more sense Candace. My mom and I are very close, but that doesn't mean I can still separate truth from fiction, especially stuff that happened before I was born.

That's funny! I'm glad it's not the whole "not speaking to you" thing that's like her. :)
