Is That a Dagger or a Crucifix I See?

Have you ever looked for something that seemed like it should be just around the corner, but you can't seem to find it? Or maybe you've looked for something, but been a little bit leery of what you might find when it does reveal itself. Or maybe you can picture where something ought to be, but then, as soon as you get to that place, your mind jumps ahead, and then you're picturing it somewhere else. I hate it when that happens.

But now it's time for more of - LOOK! A chicken!

The biggest taddies are growing legs now. They have little tiny froggy knees and toes and everything. Very cute. Too bad it didn't show up so great in the pics.

We gave Summer Pudding a try. Not bad! I think I'd prefer it with ladyfingers or something rather than bread, though.

And Mollusc and Sluggie found what I think is a
polyphemus moth. At first I thought it was a cecropia moth, but now I'm feeling a bit sheepish ;-) about that because we raised 2 cecropias a few years ago, and I should have remembered how they look. :-P

I'm writing again. This is good. Blogging suffers as a natural result, so please don't be offended if my visits to your blogs have become more sporadic. I still read it all, but I kind of go in spurts now. (Now, now,tsk tsk!!)

Thanks to Mr. Gabriel (aka Archangel?) for the inspiration. And the lyrics.

We wanted the union
Oh, the union of the woman,
The woman and the man . . .

LOL, Jack! Don't worry. I'm more likely to accidentally lop one of my own "dangerous" limbs off than hurt anyone else. ;-)

I think this post pushed me over the edge. I'm not sure I want to meet you. I have a feeling I might end up in a body bag afterwards. Mothra also scares me.

Well in that case, I won't show you any firecracker sort of activity, LOL!

Hey, Mothra didn't hurt anyone. He only bared his fangs once, and never bit.

Summer pudding is a great dessert - one of my favorites in fact - but you have to have the right sort of bread. When we've tried it over here much of the bread has the weird effect of not soaking up the liquid - it's almost like it's Teflon coated. It took SWMBO a while to find an absorbent bread to it hangs together.

What fruit did you use in the filling?
Is there a particular message in the bare blade? Should I worry, given that I'm only a state down, so to speak?

That was the first time I've had summer pudding. The recipe I used said to reserve the juice for pouring over just before serving. But the pictures I Googled afterwards sure look like they put the juice in, too. I used strawberries, red raspberries and blackberries that were way too expensive. :-P

The dagger or crucifix is a veiled commentary on my spiritual life at the moment. :-)

Don't worry... I find real life is getting in the way of my blogging, too. Seeing as I'm working crazy hours.
I can't wait to read what you are writing.
Oh, and I posted my account of my trip home from Japan last year on my blog.

Maybe up the raspberries and add some blueberries next time? I like the sharpness that the rasp-/black-berries provide and I don't see blackcurrants in the shops round here. Do you get them up your way?

OMG Jai - that is some crazy trip. Urgh!!

TG - I'll do that. Yeah - there wasn't enough contrast. MI is apparently famous for blueberries, so that shouldn't be too hard. I haven't seen blackcurrants aroundhere, but Ihaven't specifically looked, either.

I used to be known as polyphemus. Then I got glasses and got four eyes.
