Isis, Isis, Ra, Ra, Ra!

OK, so I go on Raï kicks now and then. This is another of my favourite songs. I think this vid is better than the original, which IMNSHO looks like a disjointed 80s attempt at a commercial that can't make up its mind between Jaguar and Vegas.

Cheb Khaled (singing "Aicha" below) and Cheb Mami (accompanying in this song) are both Raï singers. You can learn more about Raï here. Or not.

As for the title, no, there's not really a direct correlation. The vid just kind of steered my thoughts in that direction.

Thanks for Dune clip.

The Dune clip, best movie ever.

Egan - whew. Glad you didn't watch it. I thought I told you to stay away.

Egan - I KNOW I told you to stay away until I said it was safe. I'm glad you have a short attention span. ^_^

PS - A Dune clip would be a great idea. Especially if I can find my favourite bit. Thanks! :)

I'm still a little shocked that you haven't filled either my comment section or inbox with hate mail. ^_^

I didn't have time to watch the whole damn clip. It wasn't porn, so I moved on. No Kyle McKaughlin either.

When I awoke groggily this Sunday morn, I had no idea I would be learning about Rai. Thank you!!

Egan - Excellent! ^_^ I should have banked on this in the first place, and no warning would have been required.

Michael - Now you can mix some Rai into your playlist of shame. That would really get folks wondering. ^_^ Happy Race Day!

I watched the entire video and clicked on the Rai link. I still haven't a clue what this post is all about, but that's what makes you unique Candace. What the hell was the warning about? You're odd.

Egan - Are you serious? It's always so hard to tell. Next you'll tell me you didn't hate the song. No. No way. But it would be funny. ^_^

Playlist of shame? I shall have to go bury my MP3 player in the backyard now ;-)

I like a bit of Rai every now and then, but can only take it in short doses for some reason.
Thanks for this.

Oh, maybe I shouldn't turn the volume off. Now this is one of the few tolerable Sting songes. Note Sting vs. The Police... huge difference. Not quite as repetitive and such. Nice work Candace.

Guess what I made Mr. ARM watch last night (this has nothing to do with your post, BTW)? Boondock Saints! Hallelujah Jaffar, he enjoyed it! And I had forgotten how much I love that movie. And how much I heart Sean Patrick Flanery. Holy Hell...he's hot.

Ok, going to listen to the video now.

I love that you posted this video. I've actually never heard the entire song before...just bits and pieces on commercials and such.

Michael - Fear not! The man I love and adore above all has frighteningly similar taste in music. I told him he has to read you blog. He, too, has some songs of utmost embarrasment on his list. Perhaps he will share them with you. ^_^

TG - Yep. I can listen to these 2 ad infinitum, but some of the others, not so much. :) I just saw that there's another vid with this song featuring clips of the strikingly beautiful Aishwarya Rai.

Egan - Sounds familiar, but I think it was me saying it last time, and you telling me I was full of shit. ^_^ Maybe not. . . Thanks, dude. :)

Amanda - Hallelujah, Jaffar! OMG, it's a festival of hotness, is it not? I can't choose between the two, so I'm thinking sandwich time. Or more. Roc has his own charm, ya know. ^_^ (OMG please don't let this be the one comment section that the peeps I know IRL read. ^_^ Ah well.) Slather on the full strength SPF (Sean Patrick Flanery) please! Did you watch the deleted scenes? The shower one is, is, is -- *happy place* I'm so glad to hear that Mr. ARM enjoyed it. :) Every time I watch it, I appreciate the director even more.

"We could kill EVERYONE!" ^_^

Amanda - I'm sorry. Did you say something? I'm still stuck in SPF enjoyment mode. ^_^

Glad you liked it! Really? Never? It's one of my utmost favourites.

I'm glad you've found a way to embrace your inner Sting lust.

I'm not embracing it at all. I can tolerate some stuff, but The Police.... can you say repetitive?
