Happy Friday! No PUF today because I see that the HNT suggestions are to keep it special for Thursday. Can't have a birthday every day. Speaking of birthdays, go wish Marcus a Happy Birthday today. :o)
If you live in Canada, and I know I have several readers who do, Beowulf and Grendel is going to release in one week, on March 10th. If you go see it, not only will you get to see what looks like a great film, but it increases the liklihood that *I* will get to see it, since the distribution will be affected by how well it does in Canada. There's no US distributor yet. :-( So please go see it. For me? :o) Maybe I should offer a spectacular HNT if enough people go. . . ;o)
John is coming home today. Yaaaaaaaay!!! :o)
Today's LoD I had never heard of a "chip truck" or poutine before Jay said something about them.
I had another LoD idea but forgot what it was. Don't you hate that? Mind like a sieve. :oP

I know what a chip truck is, but poutine has me baffled.
Have you ever seen a chip truck, or just heard of them? If you've seen them, where did you live at the time?
That's NOT the Beowulf you want to see.
This version has a screenplay by Neil Gaiman...
Up here, chip trucks carry wood chips to paper or fiberboard mills.
Au contraire, my dear Fal! This one has Gerard Butler, LOL! And, perhaps more importantly (perhaps not) it's not a cartoon. ;o) It was filmed in Iceland - looks and sounds just AWESOME from the making-of stuff I've watched. I've been following this film and gearing up to see it for months now. :o) I sure hope I get to. . .
I may see that other one, too - if nothing else to get a bead on this Gaiman - but I really REALLY want to see this B&G.
I saw some Terry Pratchett books at the library today and thought of you, but I didn't go seek out Gaiman cuz I still have too many to-reads in my queue. He's going on my list, though.
TS - have you heard of the chip trucks like ice-cream trucks except that they sell french fries? I sure hadn't!!
We live so far in the sticks that we don't even have ice cream trucks! ;)
Neil Gaiman is my hubby's fav author.
What's his favourite Gaiman book? Where should one start?
Neverwhere is his favorite, followed by Stardust. He says stay away from American Gods.
