Quotes That Didn't Make It Into the Book

for various reasons. Just a little silliness. Got some of your own to add?

"The sword is mightier than the sausage."

"Third time means you've already failed twice so why bother?"

Buddhist saying: "Laugh Much, Eat Well, Live Often."

"Education is not the filling of the bucket, but an act of arson."

"Practice makes your fingers sore."

"Even homicidal maniacs make mistakes."

"Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do."

"Dogs will consume sleeping pills like there's no tomorrow, but you can't give a cat a tonic." (out loud, that one)

"To dream the highly unlikely dream. . ."

TAGLINES that didn't make the final cut:

Speedo: Tiny, tight, tasteless

A&W Root Beer: Frothy to the last belch.

Ford: Up to four years of reliability.

Ammonia: DNA-masking goodness!

NASDAQ: What Goes Up Must Come Down!

Famous First Drafts (do you know the original? What a difference a little wordsmithing or a change of direction makes, LOL!)

"Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by
But they both came out in the same place. . ."

"It was the best of times, but bad things happened, too, it was the age of wisdom, but there was a lot of rampant stupidity. . ."

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man with a lot of dough is going to be hounded by the ladies."

"No man is a peninsula. . ."

I love the Far Side pic with the writer's floor covered with first drafts:
"Call me Bill"
"Call me Joe"
"Call me Bob"....

TS - that's the best use I've gotten from my advertising degree. :oP

Fal - I love the Far Side. I had forgotten about that one. Ever see the Monty P where they're watching someone write and commentating as if it's a sport? I can't remember who the writer was s'posed to be. Gotta listen to my CD again.
